Tree Frog Photo 5 A male Tree Frog sitting on a water lily pad was spotted by Jean* during a bat survey program held at the Maplewood Nature Center; the program was by naturalist Carole with the help of Jean*. This tree frog fills his vocal sac with air to make calls. We've never seen a frog filling its vocal sac with air before. We think this male frog is a Gray Tree Frog: Length: 1 1/4 - 2 inches (3.2-5.1 cm); Color: Gray to creamy white. The gray tee frog is able to change colors. They are quiet and gentle. Very cute. We usually see tree frogs whose colors are green. This pic was shot at the Maplewood Nature Center, Maplewood, MN on July 25, 2013 (8 p.m. - 10 p.m.). We've only seen five frogs this year so far; four tree frogs and a leopard frog as of August 10, 2013.
