Preparing for a show: Here is a pic
of Lisa's male Persian cat, Mugsy "Meow My Mugsy Malone of Morgan.hill."
The Persian is a long-haired breed of
cat.
Its
breeder is Zayda Stephens. Lisa and Mugsy are from Wisconsin.
Lisa grooms Mugsy with combs.
"Mugsy is
really cool, isn't he?" Lisa has three more
Persian
cats,
but only Mugsy
participates in cat shows. We asked Lisa, "How does a cat compete in
the show?" She kindly
answers, "This show
separates out cats into one of two types:
'Long Hair' category (Persians,
Maine Coons, and other long-haired cats)
and 'Short
Hair' category (Burmese,
Sphynx,
Egyptian Maus,
and other short-haired cats).
So,
Mugsy will be
judged in the 'Long Hair' category.” "We had no clue on a cat show. We've never
heard of 'Long Hair' and 'Short Hair', either."
This pic was shot at
the Saintly City Cat Show, the 2012 St. Paul Winter Carnival, Roy Wilkins Exhibition
Hall, RiverCentre, St. Paul, MN, on January 29, 2012. For more info on "Persian
(cat)", click

It looks like in a cat show there are two kinds of rings (miniature
shows), "Specialty"
miniature shows
(Cats are judged either in the ''Long Hair" category
or in the "'Short
Hair" category),
which we just learned from Lisa, and
"All Breed" miniature shows
(all types of breeds of cats are judged).

リサさんのペルシャ猫(雄) "Mugsy"
立派な猫ですね！
”キャットショーは、どのようにして、行われますか？”とリサさんに聞いてみました。リサさんの答え：”このショーでは、以下の二つの部門にわけて行われます。"長毛"
部門 (Persians,
Maine Coons, and other long-haired cats)
と "短毛" 部門(Burmese,
Sphynx,
Egyptian Maus,
and other short-haired cats).”
