Here is a pic of a young Eastern Cottontail. This rabbit jumped onto the trail, from inside the shrub, right after we had left. As you can see in this pic, the rabbit was checking us out with its big eye on the side of the face. Isn't this bunny cute? BTW, take a close look at this bunny's tail. A "Cottontail" is named after the fluffy white fur on the underside of its tail. As for the trail, it may look weird because the trail is covered with wood chip mulch. We like mulch-covered trails because mulch-covered trail surfaces are softer than dirt trail ones.
