Photo 1    A chickadee eats prairie dock seeds (prairie dock の種を食べる シジュウカラ)   This pic was taken during Tammy's early morning birding walk at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary, Minneapolis, MN on October 22, 2011.  The flower stalks can reach up to 13 feet*.
The chickadee is such a tiny bird that it can hold on to the seed head while eating seeds as you can see in this photo.  How small chickadees are (12-15 cm and 9-14 g).
