First sighting of the bird or something; I've never seen it before in my life

101124-1128 Five swans, St. Paul, 101125 (Paul); Goldeneyes** (adult and
young goldeneyes) & Ring-necked Ducks*, St. Paul, 101128; Gulls sit on the ice, St.
Paul, 101128; First Ice Fishing House of the season*, St. Paul, 101127
More Birds: Canada Geese, Mallard Ducks, Blue Jays, Chickadees, Nuthatches,
Downy Woodpeckers, Northern Cardinals, House Sparrows, Coots?, a Tree Sparrow*, a
Junco, Crows, a Bald Eagle, Three Hawks --- a Sharp-shined Hawk, a Red-tailed
hawk, Several crows mobbing a Sharp-shinned Hawk (most likely) --- , European
Starlings, Rock Pigeons, Abandoned bird nests such as a Baltimore Oriole’s nest,
a Robin’s, and a Red-eyed Vireo’s.
Mammals: Gray Squirrels (still very active outside of their nests), a Gray
Squirrel’s tree hollow nest*, Gray Squirrel’s winter nests in trees, a Red
Squirrel, a Muskrat, a young Deer, Raccoon tracks* in the snow
Flowers: Witch Hazel flowers still bloom.
101123 We spotted two trumpeter swans
swimming together in a lake. We also saw a muskrat, a pair of Mallards, and a
flock of about 10 Canada geese flying in line formation, and several rock
pigeons. 2羽の白鳥を見ました

We spotted
a flock of about 20 Wigeons* (male, female, and young**), several
Juncos*, Mallards, Canada Geese, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Crows, Chickadees,
Nuthatches, a Hawk (unidentified), Rock Pigeons, Starlings, a gull, and a
Northern Bobwhite Quail** (We've never seen this before), and Gray Squirrels, and
an insect (a bee or beetle) flying overhead, and Dandelion flowers in St. Paul
on 101106-1107. Sandhill Cranes are still in Wisconsin as of 101108. Worms* under
the ground. Weird-looking insects** (unidentified) and very tiny snails** hiding
under a dead tree branch lying on the ground. 101107
”We saw a buck* at close range in St. Paul. Cool to see a
buck during the day."
