December 13th 　 St. Lucia Day

I heard on the radio that today, December 13^th is St. Lucia Day. A radio talk show hostess says, “On this day, some girls wear wreaths of burning candles on their heads. So be careful with the burning candles. J” I’ve never seen the wreath of burning candles, but now I recall one of my Swedish friends, who lived in Mora (now lives in Stockholm), talked about this.

今日は、ラジオで、１２月１３日は、St. Lucia Dayと言うのを知りました。トーク　ショーのホステスが、曰く、“この日、女の子によっては、頭の上に、ろうそくのリースを飾ります。ろうそくの火は、あぶないので、特に、注意してね。J”　でも、スウェーデン系の人が、多いミネソタでも、まだ、このリースを見たことは、ありません。でも、そういえば、昔、スウェーデンの Moraに、住んでいたスウェーデンの友達が、このリースを、言っていたのを思い出しました。
