9649 150711  Nature Notes  July 11, 2015, Minneapolis/ St. Paul, cloudy, sometimes rainy     a mallard duck family, a male Wood Duck perching on the tree branch on a pond, a Kingfisher (calls), a Green Heron, an Egret, Robins, Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds, a Catbird (calls), Downy Woodpeckers, Brown Thrashers, Red-eyed Vireo calls, a Goldfinch, a Great Crested Flycatcher calls, a small bird (trying to identify)
many gray squirrels, Cottontail rabbits,
a Painted turtle on the log in a pond
a dragonfly (unidentified), a pair of damselflies laying eggs, a fly, hundreds of Aphids on Cup Plant, pesky Mosquitoes (a few nasty bites)
a black spider size: about one inch

In Bloom: White Water Lily, Purple Coneflower, Butterfly-weed, Milkweed, Yarrow, Creeping Bellflower, Culver's Root?, Cup Plant, Black-eyed Susan, Red Clover, White Clover, and many more (unidentified species)

(Julie, Thank you for info on a fledgling), Chickadees (calls), a Nuthatch, a Downy Woodpecker (female), a Barn Swallow nest (most likely a nestling on the nest), House Sparrows, a Chipping Sparrow, a Hummingbird, Canada Goose families (young geese are getting large),
