全米で、たくさんのMartin Luther King (MLK) イベントが、１月１９日、月曜日に催されます。また、大抵の学校は、この日は、休みになります。St. Paul市に住んでいる私たちは、St. Paul市にあるSt. Paul Central 高校で行われた若者の集まりを覗いてみました。その後、引き続いてのSt. Paul Central 高校から同じSt. Paul市にあるConcordia Universityまでの行進にも参加しました。行進の距離は、およそ1 km でした。 “今、行動しなければ、その夢も実現しない“ と書かれた垂れ幕が、このMartin Luther King Day 行進をリードし、また、一人のリーダーが、行進者の合唱をリードしていました。行進者のなかには、旗やプラカードを持って行進する人もいました。参加者は、おおよそ２０００人。私たちの行進中の天候は、極寒！（厚着すること、特に、スキー帽で、耳を覆うことは、ぜったいに、必要！！！）その気温は、約、-15 C　でした。 Brrrr!

１月１９日付けのSt. Paul Pioneer Press新聞によれば、公式のミネソタ州の式典: ゲストスピーカー Brandon Neil, NAACP (The National Association of the Advancement of Colored People) < http://www.naacp.org/> , National Director of Youth, College and Young Adult Division; 11 a.m. at Concordia University.
