ブルーミントン市は、ミネアポリス、セントポールに次ぐ、ミネソタで第三番目に大きな市で、ミネアポリスとセントポールの隣の市でもあります。ミネアポリスとセントポールは、the Twin Citiesとも呼ばれます。（メージャーリーグのミネソタツｲンズは、the Twin Citiesから来ています）ブルーミントン市には、全米でもつとも大きなショツピングセンターで有名な ”Mall of America”、Fort Snelling National Cemetery（国営墓地）、Minnesota River Wildlife National Refuge（ミネソタ川ワｲルドライフ米国立保護区域）、そして Hyland Lake Park Reserveのような大きな公園が、たくさんあります。また、ブルーミントン市は、 Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport（国際空港）、 Fort Snelling（Snelling砦）、そして Fort Snelling State Park（州立公園）にも隣接しています。 The Twin Cities に加えて、ブルーミントン市は、もう一つのユニークな市、Shakopee市の隣でもあります。Shakoee市には、州で一番大きな遊園地、Valley Fair　があります。また、Shakopee市は、毎夏、８月から９月にかけて、Minnesota Renaissance Festival（ミネソタルネﾂサンスフェステｲバル）を主催します。このように、ブルーミントン市は、地理的に素晴らしい所にあり、特に、旅行者は、様々なアクテｲビｲテーを楽しむことが出来ます。
