“Groundhog Day” February 2, 2004
Pix of a groundhog!!!: We shot pix of a groundhog (woodchuck) on the North
Shore near Duluth in the summer of 2003. One of our friends is saying that
there are many groundhogs (woodchucks) in Minnesota. BTW, groundhogs are
also called woodchucks.
Check out our new
groundhog pictures here!
“Groundhog Day” is on February 2nd every year since 1887. For more
details on “Groundhog Day” , see our letters 23 and 38.
The famous Punxsutawney Phil, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, doesn’t see his
shadow, winter is over and he will stay above the ground… Most of us living in Minnesota hope that Phil won’t see his shadow on this
coming Mon. Here is so damn cold; these days it’s always below -10 C; sometimes
the temperatures go down to -30 C especially when the windchill factor is
considered.
We’re sure that King Boreas is happy for this frigid weather, but we anticipate
that the Vulcan and his aids will kick King Boreas out of St. Paul on this Sat. to finish the
Winter; see our Letter 107 for more details on Boreas and the Vulcan.
