NHL (National Hockey League): Stanley Cup playoffs and the Famous Stanley Cup ( May 15, 2003 )

Stanley Cup playoffs for NHL are under way.   The playoffs started with 16 teams after the regular season.   Now Final Four teams remain to fight for championship games at two conferences, the Western Conference and Eastern Conference.   In fact, Minnesota Wild is one of the Final Four teams and they have been fighting the championship finals at the Western Conference.   Then, the two champions from each conference will fight for the Stanley Cup to be the champions for NHL.

This Stanley Cup has been visiting Minnesota this week. (See pix of the Stanley Cup) The cup is made of silver and more than 2000 persons’ names such as the past champion teams’ players, coaches, and staff are engraved on the cup (See Pic 2).   Sears
<http://www.sears.com/ > is sponsoring this even at which people can touch the cup, kiss, hug, or take pix of them with the cap side by side.  The event became so popular that people had to make a long line to get to the cup.  The event was free, but you could donate for funds relating to cancer.
