Arbor Day

Arbor Day, the last Friday of April, falls on the 25th this year, although some states observe this holiday on other dates.  Arbor Day is a minor holiday, and is traditionally observed by planting a tree.

For example, on Arbor Day the city of Oakdale (pop. is around 27,000), in the neighborhood of our office, gave away over 300 trees (red flowering crab and maple) to Oakdale residents on a first-come, first-served basis.  Last year 120 volunteers spent their time planting trees along Interstate 694 between Highway 120 and Highway 5. Now the city needs volunteers to help maintain those trees. Calling all volunteers...
