Skijoring  (032403) See Pix of Skijoring

"Skijor" means "ski-driving" in Norwegian.  Skijoring is a combination of cross-country skiing and dogsledding.   Skijoring can be a sport as well as a great form of transportation to remote areas where snowmobiles can’t go. It can be used to deliver small stuff such as mail and emergency medicines to these areas. We saw someone practicing skijoring at Lake of Isles , Minneapolis . Note: In the photo she isn't using ski poles which are usually used. When the dog did its pulling correctly, her skijoring looked "Really Cool" like in Pic 1. If you have cross-country ski gear and a mid-size to large dog, you are ready for skijoring just by buying a harness for your dog.
