The Academy Awards, a.k.a. Oscars, for movies of the Year, 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, 2003 at the Kodak Theater at Hollywood & Highland. ABC will telecast the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time). The ceremony will go on even though the US is at war with Iraq . Oscar, the award statuette, is a gold-plated naked knight with a sword standing on a reel of film. In the opinion of some of us (geeks!) at www.exploreamerica.info , the knight may stand on a DVD disk or newer media instead of the reel in the future.
