“Groundhog
Day” February 2nd,
Punxsutawney,
Pennsylvania
Around this time of the year you may often hear the topic, “Groundhog Day” while staying in the
US
.
“Groundhog Day” is on
February 2nd
every year since 1887. It’s a day
when the famous Punxsutawney Phil,
Punxsutawney,
Pennsylvania, the groundhog forecasts the
weather by coming out a hole after his hibernating
sleep. If he sees his shadow, winter will stay for another six
weeks and
Phil will go back in his
hole to make more Z’s.
If it doesn’t see his
shadow, winter is over and he
will stay above the ground.
In fact, it’s not easy to figure out this definition.
However, it is for sure that if it’s not sunny, Phil will not
see his
shadow since there is no shadow? Anyway,
this is fun, isn’t it? (012803)
