13 (S2)   In the U.S., the traditional holiday shopping season began the Day after Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving (November 28) is over.  On the day-after-Thanksgiving, Americans traditionally start their shopping sprees.  Like it or not, you will notice this special day because you will get a lot of ad inserts from retailers in the Thanksgiving Day paper.   As a result, retailers usually get their best sales during this part of the year.  For example, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. < http://www.walmart.com/  >, (1,383,000 employees) < http://biz.yahoo.com/p/w/wmt.html >, the American giant retailer, has reported a single-day company sales record. During this traditional day-after-Thanksgiving shopping spree they raked in $1.43 billion nationally. < http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/11/30/sproject.hs02.holiday.shopping.ap/index.html   >

Starting from the day after Thanksgiving through X-mas, many people will go shopping.  It's time for retailers to make a bundle.   (1
