panic. Garter snakes are harmless." A garter snake
slithers under shrubs.

photo was taken on Matt's birding walk with the help of Julie, a naturalist, at
Arboretum, Chaska, MN on 080920.
This morning we were fortunate to spot several garter
snakes there. I've never seen so many snakes at a time before. In fact, the only
time I saw a snake here in the U.S. was when Julie spotted a garter snake at
Arboretum this past spring.
