Here is a pic of a
young chipmunk leaving the bird feeder (Gotta go, see ya later). We’ve never
seen chipmunks eating seeds at bird feeders. We think usually chipmunks eat
seeds dropped
on the ground under
bird feeders
while gray squirrels eat seeds at bird feeders. This chipmunk seems to be
a baby (or young). It looks like this young chipmunk is good at climbing shrubs
and jumping on to the bird feeder*. We also think young chipmunks seem to be
scared off easily as we get close to them, but this young chipmunk at the
birdfeeder is not afraid of us. Cool!!! Note: Young chipmunks are smaller than
adult chipmunks. We also think a young chipmunk’s tail has less fur than an
adult chipmunk’s one. These pix were shot at

Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary, Minneapolis, MN, on100616.
