"This event is great,
especially for kids!"

Several days before we visited Silverwood Park, Christine, a naturalist, of
Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary
had spotted Great Horned Owls fledging here at Silverwood Park. That's why we
went there, Silverwood Park. Well, we were unfortunate to spot the great horned
owls on June 11, 2006. Chris of Silverwood Park (then, and if we're not
mistaken, now he works at
Elm Creek Park Reserve &
Cleary Lake Regional Park*)
said to us, "They are probably still around here. You should have come earlier
to see great horned owls." He kindly showed us a Northern Flicker's nest
by the shelter. We've never seen a Northern Flicker's nest before. It was so
cool! "Chris, Thanks so much for showing us the nest." We'll post some pix of
the nest later.
Note that
Silverwood Park has a very nice visitor center, which was built about a year
ago. 110117
