Seeing Purple Martin colonies is really awesome. We've never seen Purple Martin
colonies before. On July 30, 2011, we were fortunate to see
our first Purple Martin colony because
of Wildlife Technician (Three
Rivers Park District),
Madeleine's note on the MOU-NET
page and her additional info. "Madeleine, really appreciate your kindness,
by which we were able to see our first Purple Martin colony." Also, Gary, a naturalist and John, a nature
photographer of
Coon Rapids Regional Park,
Coon Rapids, MN suggested to us that
we should go to Medicine Lake or golf courses if we'd like to see Purple
Martins. "Gary and John, thanks for your suggestions."
ここ２、３年前から、是非、ツバメの一種Purple
Martinとそのコロニーを見たいと思っていました。幸運にも、Purple
MartinのコロニーについてのMadeleineさんの情報をMOU-NET頁で７月の終わりに見つけました。早速、Madeleineさんに連絡をとり、詳しい情報をいただきました。彼女に、”一週間位のうちに、このコロニーから、いなくなりますので、見たければ、早く、見に来てください”
と言われ、慌てて見て来ました。お陰で、最後の３羽の赤ちゃんも見ることが出来ました。初めて見るPurple
Martinのコロニーに感激！Madeleine*さん、どうもありがとうございました。*

Note: We've seen seen five kinds of swallows in Minnesota, Barn Swallows, Cliff
Swallows, Purple Martins, Rough-winged Swallows, and Tree Swallows. So Cool!
日本では、Barn
Swallowしか見なかったが、ミネソタでは、今回のムラサキツバメで、５種類のツバメを見たことになります。
