Here is a picture of Ron banding a male Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, taken on 070512. You can see the new metallic band on his right leg in the photo. At the Eastman Nature Center, volunteers like Ron band birds every other month. Grosbeaks are in the Cardinal family and have short strong beaks for eating hard food like seeds.
