Here is a
picture of the bird banding event at
the Eastman Nature Center in Dayton, MN, held on 070512. The birds are being
banded so the nature center can keep track of them and check up on their health
to make sure the birds stay healthy. Here Ron is weighing one of the birds in
the bag so
they can keep track of the bird's weight over time. In order for Ron to be able
to band the birds like this he had to get a federal banding permit. Paul (Far
Left), a naturalist and an osprey specialist, helps at the event.
