Here is the killdeer's nest (Up-Close). The female killdeer lays four splotchy eggs. The eggs are pointy at one end*. Parents position the eggs with pointy ends together and incubate 24-28 days**. The pic was shot near Arboretum, Chaska, MN, 070425.
