Officials are thankful
for participants and spectators coming to watch the races in spite of this severe
weather. You have to contend with the stress of cold-weather conditions
physically, mentally, and emotionally, and wear proper clothes and stay warm,
accordingly.
It’s so cold that not so many people come to see the competition event. It’s
interesting to watch races since we’ve never seen XC ski races before. There is the
Caribou Coffee tent
where free coffee is offered on this very cold day. “Caribou Coffee, Thanks for
free coffee.” There are two open fires for people to warm themselves. Near the
finish line there is a big warming tent, where one can warm oneself and visit
vendors.
